my journey

 “I began losing my sight in 2016.  At some point, I could no longer work, and then the marriage trouble began.  We got divorced, and I started off staying with some friends in Scottsville.   They kicked me out.  I walked 17 miles  into Franklin, KY and  ended up staying with a bad crowd.  I knew I needed to get out, and so I began walking on the interstate.  Tammie drove by & talked to me.  He said he had just opened a place for the homeless to stay, and it was in Franklin, KY.   I was scared to come to Franklin because it’s a pretty small town and doesn’t have a lot of resources.  I didn’t have family support.  Since I’ve been connected with Live the Proof, I’ve been gathering resources from them and getting help from the Franklin Presbyterian Church (The Cornerstone) .  Now I’m enrolled in Vocational Rehabilitation at the Office of the Blind.  Soon I’ll be going to Institute for the Blind in Louisville.  I hope I can train for work in a job I enjoy.”
